How much does it cost?
With all those benefits, no doubt you're expecting to pay more than you would for a new cow. For about the same as you'd spend on one or two bottles of fine BC wine, you can sign up for a year. It's just $75.

We will offer the ability to etransfer your dues, but with the recent passing of David Schmidt, our treasurer, we are still sorting through our processes. Pop us a note to [email protected] to figure out the best option. You can send your membership application to the same address.

- BCFWA Membership Card: This card lets others know that you are a BCFWA member and gives you preferred media access to agricultural events.
- Access to a Provincial Network of Agricultural Journalists and Communicators: You'll get to know other agricultural journalists and communicators from across British Columbia.
- Opportunities for Professional Development and Career Advancement: Join us for free (or very low cost) tours, presentations and meetings where we find out about different aspects of agriculture around British Columbia.
- Bursaries: From time to time, we offer bursaries to help offset members' travel costs for the Canadian Farm Writers' Association annual conference.
- Membership in the Canadian Farm Writers' Federation: Your BCFWA membership automatically provides membership in the Canadian Farm Writers' Federation (CFWF). This gives you:
- an even bigger, more effective network for Canadian professionals with a strong, common interest in agricultural communications.
- a great forum for career opportunities, professional development and networking (including preferred member rates to attend the CFWF annual conference, held annually at different locations hosted by regional associations)
- award competition that includes cash prizes, certificates and written critiques by judges of all entries submitted by CFWF members (categories include: television, radio, and daily, monthly and weekly press reporting; media release; press column; press editorial and press feature)
- quarterly newsletter: The Farm Journalist

- CFWF International Bursary: You could represent Canadian farm writers at the International Federation of Agriculture Journalists congress. All members-in-good-standing of the CFWF are eligible to apply to win an international bursary.
- Membership in the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists: Your membership in the BCFWA/CFWF also automatically provides membership to the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ), a global network of agricultural communicators.
